Meeting A HERO

My wife and I had the great honor of meeting one of  the all time greats in magic last night, Mr. John Calvert.  Mr. Calvert is 97 years old and he and his wife Tammy still perorm their wonderful show together.  This man has lived a life most of us can only dream about.   If you ever get the chance to see him prform in person, don't miss it.

Masked Magician

I have not said much about the Masked Magician who seems to love to spoil the fun and mystery of magic.  I don't understand why he still wears the mask all magicians know who he is.  I guess he is ashamed of his own face.  Most of what he so calls exposes is all ideas not used very much anymore.  Also some of it he just seems to make up as he goes.

My suggestion is that if you enjoy watching magic then don't watch the masked magician.  A great magician is much more just just the tricks he or she does.
I think that is one reason why this man exposes magic.  He was not and is not a very good magicial entertainer.  He couldn't make a living doing shows so he chose to sell out the craft he claims he loves.  You can teach a monkey to do a magic trick, but can you teach him to entertain with that trick?

The one good thing about these shows is that they are not on a major network, but rather small local stations.

This guy is like a bad cold that just want go away.

Ok that is all I have to say about the masked jerk, sorry magician.

The Lost Of A Friend

Posted at 08:27 PM on January 04, 2009 Comments comments (0)

The other day I received a call from a friend who told me that John Cooper had passed away. I met John back in 1978 at a local magic shop. John was a great guy and became a good friend. John and I appeared on local TV together here in Atlanta. At the time John was performing as a clown and what a great clown he was. John sent me several bookings over the years. When he moved from Georgia to SC we kind of lost touch and now that makes me sad. If you have a friend you haven't seen or heard from in a while look them up and say hello.

My prayers are with John's family and friends.

Posted at 07:02 AM on September 28, 2008 Comments comments (0)
We got up this morning at 5:00am to find gas, and we found some, yea yea.  I have never seen so many people awake on a Sunday morning.

If you are out looking for gas remember everyone is in the same boat, so please try and don't get upset and loose your tempter.  Things will get better.

Well thats all for now.  God Bless.
TJ
